The Music Meister, if you weren’t already aware, is the title villain created for Batman: The Brave and Bold’s musical episode Mayhem of the Music Meister that aired last year to rapturous acclaim. The episode had plenty going for it before it was even broadcast, what with B:TBAB being a major hit among fans and a cast that included /co/-favourite Grey DeLisle (voice of Azula from Avatar: The Last Airbender) as Black Canary and everyone’s favourite Neil Patrick Harris impersonator, NEIL PATRICK HARRIS, lending his pipes to the Music Meister himself. Buzz really picked up after it was specially screened at that year’s Comic Con and with the American airdate pushed back behind most international dates the antici… pation would be the comics fandom’s undoing. Just kidding! Within an hour of the episode broadcast in the UK it was ripped to shit and all over the internet. And it was marvellous. Even with the gigantic on-screen logos every station needs to have all over their TV shows. Even with a prompt for a new Chowder episode popping up halfway through a sweet moment and killing it dead. A truly marvellous instant classic. So many catchy songs. So many lulz. Music Meister constantly changes his outfits and rides around on a music note bike. The rogue’s gallery in Arkham Asylum sing back up in a song about how annoying Batman is. Black Canary and Ollie have a romantic duet. Aquaman and Gorilla Grodd are forced to waltz with each other. ‘nuff said. You can watch it on youtube here: part 1 part 2 part 3 The soundtrack is on iTunes and is so good. How good, you ask?
